Anesthesia Business Consultants is pleased to announce it will be attending PRACTICE MANAGEMENT™ 2018 hosted by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), held January 26-28 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans in New Orleans, LA.  This event is the premier business event for physician anesthesiologists and practice administrators.

Per the ASA, PRACTICE MANAGEMENT 2018 is the most relevant and timely conference of its kind, bringing together subject-matter experts and leaders in anesthesia to share knowledge and critical skills needed to stay at the forefront of anesthesia practice management. Discover how to deliver value through physician and practice performance, and engage with a variety of world-renowned specialty leaders.

ABC will be showcasing offerings that tie in nicely with PRACTICE MANAGEMENT 2018’s theme of “Navigating for Success."  One of these is the MACRA MadeEasy platform, introduced last year, which guides anesthesia groups through the changes mandated by the Quality Payment Program (QPP).  Another is the ABC/MiraMed Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR), approved for the second consecutive year by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), which offers anesthesia practitioners a powerful short- and long-term strategy for quality data reporting.  The ABC/MiraMed QCDR created new measures and collaborated with other anesthesia QCDRs through the ASA QCDR Roundtable to ensure harmonization across reporting platforms for the 2018 anesthesia quality measures.

Though the low-volume threshold for the 2018 QPP has been raised, anesthesia practices that continue to report quality data through a QCDR will position themselves to support their facilities’ quality programs, appeal to the growing number of private insurance payers that are looking for QCDR participation, and enhance their chances of earning favorable ratings on Physician Compare.
