Message to our Clients, our Partners and our Readership

When one of us can't breathe, none of us can breathe. I can no longer sit silent while our communities continue to suffer. While I do not condone violence of any kind, there are members of our society who have been marginalized and have been suffering for far too long. At MiraMed, we stand with our black and brown brothers and sisters as they seek equality in every form and at all levels of our society.

At MiraMed, we are proud of the diversity in our organization—diversity of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, socioeconomic status, ability, experience. It is this diversity that makes us a stronger family of companies and a provides a welcome home for all members of our community.

Sue and I are Baha'is and we immigrated here from a country that discriminates against us for our religious beliefs. Baha'is are denied the right to exercise their religion, denied access to higher education, their businesses are constantly shut down, their homes raided, and they are too often imprisoned and killed for their beliefs. In fact, Sue's father was martyred for his religious beliefs in the 1986. So it should come to no surprise that we support and stand beside those who seek equality. This issue is personal to us.

For us, words are not enough. Expressing support for our black and brown communities is not enough. We need to put our words into peaceful action and, in so doing, our organization is making a donation to Boys and Girls Club of America. It is not until our black and brown brothers and sisters experience justice, protection, and equality in all facets of our society that true equality and justice will finally be established and our great nation can finally begin to achieve its true potential.

It is not enough for us to be non-racist; we must be anti-racist. It is not enough for our country to be a safe haven and make dreams come true for only a segment of its population. At MiraMed, we stand for equality, justice, and love for all.

Best,

Tony
