Dr. George is currently serving as Michigan State Senator representing the state’s 20th District (Kalamazoo).

SENATOR TOM GEORGE FILES COMMITTEE TO EXPLORE RUN FOR GOVERNOR

State Senator Tom George, MD (20th District, R-Kalamazoo) announced, on Michigan’s 172nd Birthday, that he will file paperwork forming a campaign committee to explore a run for Governor. “Michigan’s economy is broken,” said George, “that’s why my campaign will be about fixing Michigan.”

All economic indices show Michigan’s economy is broken – from our high unemployment and foreclosure rates to our deteriorating job numbers and wages. Fixing Michigan’s broken economy is George’s top priority.

“Fixing Michigan will require extensive work, but given the resources of this state and the skills of its people, Michigan’s economy can be turned around,” said George.

Prior to serving in the Senate, Tom George was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives. Tom and his wife, Sandy, have three children: Lauren, Maria, and Matthew. They reside in Texas Township of Kalamazoo County.
